Strong Visitors Win at the Brabant
The Pentecost-Soccer tournaments of LED LENSER® included a gripping derby and a third place.

A labor-intensive weekend lies behind Elvir Sipovic. Not only did he partly train the A-Juniors that participated in this tournament, but he was also one of the organizers responsible for this year’s LED LENSER® Pentecost tournament. The biggest part was taken care of before the start of the tournament which consisted of invitations, game plan etc.
The action filled weekend with four different age groups demanded full commitment of Sipovic, who ran back and forth between tournament organization and sideline. His job as a trainer for the E-Youth was relaxation, in comparison. It was worth it: “The set up was perfect, the feedback was positive.”
And while strong teams-mostly from far way-dictated the games in the broadest area of participants, the winner being Bonn SC, the three teams of the Union concentrated on neighborhood duels.
Just like winning the championship, the age-group of 2003 (they played in the higher age groups) celebrated their win against Wald 03.
After a strong beginning of Wald 03 including the hit of a post, the young Union members gained control thanks to their great technique. The winning goal – which was worth seeing –was made by Gideon Schleder, who says he “just hit it”. Loud shouts of “Union, Union” underlined the great atmosphere of the tournament.
Even though the Solingen teams did not play a vital role for the first places of the F-Youth games, the VfB Solingen dominated the Bambini-Competition-without scores- against strong competition from Fortuna Köln (Cologne).
The BSC Union was one of the favorites for the closing game of the D-Youth, but they lost in the semi-final against the future winner “Team 2000” from Rott. The third place went to the host team after a nine-meter shooting against Bayer Wuppertal.
